- Fresh Fruits and Vegetables- Fresh fruits picked off a tree or bought from the store are a great source of many vitamins and minerals like potassium as well as many others. In some cases vegetables contain more of these good qualities than some fruits.
- Dairy Products- Dairy products contain a vast amount of minerals that are crucial to functions within the body such as; iodine, potassium, calcium and biotin as well as many vitamins. In some cases, different types of dairy products may be better for you, for instance, low-fat milk as opposed to regular milk
- Whole Grain- As opposed to refined grains, whole grains retain much of their nutritional value because they do not undergo a heavy processing period. They are high in a whole host of vitamins; protein, dietary fiber and antioxidants.
- When it comes to bad carbohydrates, what makes them bad is the fact that they contain a lot of calories in a small amount of food. Foods like; potato chips, cookies, white bread, pasta and white rice. Because they are processed they lose much of their nutritional value and all they leave you with is fat to store somewhere on your body.
