Here are some easy weight loss steps that you can take even if you hate to diet. I have worked in the weight loss world for a long time and I have met many people who are simply burnt out by the diet rules and restrictions yet they still want to get the extra pounds off. Here are the recommendations I give for how to get the scale to go down even if you are not willing to follow a diet.

1. Start a food journal. You can lose weight by simply keeping a record of what you eat and drink during the day. This is an effective way to bring awareness to your eating and it effortlessly makes you think twice before eating "junky" foods.

2. Get the junk food out of the house. We all have those moments when we just want something to eat and we go rummaging through the cupboards, if you want to lose weight the best way is to have healthy snacks available in your house and get rid of the high-calorie temptation.

3. Work on your mindful eating skills. You can learn to be a mindful eater in a matter of days. The secret is to train yourself to use more of your senses while eating. Instead of just popping food in your mouth pause long enough to use your eyes to notice how the food looks, use your nose to smell the aroma, use your tongue to not the texture and use your tastebuds to detect the taste. You will find that you easily make better food and eating decisions from this gem of a tip.

4. Look for ways to move more. It is good to realize that exercise is something your body wants to do so look for ways during the day to treat your body to movement. Take the stairs instead of the escalator or walk the long way around on your next errand and your body will reward you with weight loss.
