Like everything weight loss related there are tons of weight loss
fitness programs available. You can buy programs online, sign up at a
local gym, buy books- you name your favorite media and there is a
program available through it guaranteeing to help you lose weight and
get in shape. The question is do they work and are they worth your time,
money, energy, and effort? The answer usually is no, but I have found
that the answer can be yes but it is completely up to you if the
programs will work or not.
I am always hesitant when I see the weight loss fitness program that promises me I will shed twenty pounds in twenty days. Not only is the idea of losing weight that quick not healthy, I could not possibly refill my wardrobe fast enough and I would look ridiculous in my current clothes. Be leery of any program that guarantees ridiculously quick results in short amounts of time. Those are bad for your body. You are cheating yourself out of the sense of pride you will get for losing weight, increased self esteem from working at something and good health!
Most gyms offer weight loss fitness programs that work. The key to success with these programs is the effort you put into it. If you sign up for the gym and sign on to a program that asks you to go to the gym four times a week and you never show up, well it's not going to work. If part of your program includes cutting sugar from your diet or no longer binging on bon bons and deep fried Twinkies and you cheat, you are not going to lose weight. A good program will help you lose weight a few pounds at a time through proper diet and exercise.
Unfortunately, there is no weight loss fitness program fairy. No-one is going to wave a magic wand at you and make you thin. Nor is anyone going to give you a pill that enables you to lose weight while you sleep- well you can buy those but they don't work. Getting fit takes work. Gyms can be costly but they are good if you need a support system. I hate going to gym and feeling like the fat kid when I walk in. However, seeing other people exercise around me helps motivate me. These programs can work, but only if you work at it.
