Weight loss facts and dieting, we are constantly reminded in the media, through magazines, and even by the government, plus the advertising standards authorities are putting fat content, and calorie content on the packaged goods. We are constantly being bombarded for what is good for us and what is not good for us. All this information we don't seem to be taking it in as more and more of us have unmoved towards eating a healthier food content.

We have to many temptations in front of us , fast food outlets, ice cream stores, doughnuts shops and fish and chips shops. Because we are not changing our eating habits there are more and more obese people being reported in the statistics of our society.

1) Low fat foods don't work. You will not loose weight purely by a low fat menu.

2) Low calorie diets do not work. You may think that by reducing the number of calories in your diet you will lose weight. It is the burning off of calories that helps you lose weight through exercise and the speeding up of the metabolism. Because your body will not be burning off the calories the body will retain them in the shape of fat. All you are achieving is the reduction of the water content within the muscles. Yes this will show up on the scales as weight reduction, however once you finish your diet you will put the water retention back into the muscles as before. Also because the muscle mass is reduced as the water content is taken out , your muscles will not be able to burn off excess calories.

What will happen with your body on a low calorie diet is that your body adjusts to fewer calories and burns off a proportionate amount and no more. Your body will hit a "weight plateau" and will not be able to take any more water content from the muscles so when you stand on the scales no matter how much and for how long you continue to diet, no more weight will come off. A self defeating diet plan.

3) Low carb diets steal your body of vital carbohydrates needed for energy in the body. Without them the longer you maintain this diet the more tied you become and miserable. As the body adjusts to the lack of a balance of carbohydaters it needs.

4) Low carb diets rob you of vital nutrients and supplements have to be taken.

5) Weight Watchers dieting programs tend to be long term dieting programs. Helping you lose weight over a longer period with the promise of only few pounds of weight lost. They will tend to ask you to buy their dieting supplements to support their program and your weight lose. So that is more expenditure for you. Maybe the social aspects of going a class and dieting with others is more beneficial to help with motivation.

6) Accelerated Fat burning programs instruct you to eat the right foods with out eliminating the necessary proteins , carbs , nutrients, vitamins, zinc's and irons. These are probably the best constructed and well thought out dieting plans from the experts, helping dieters to a long term weight lose and healthy lifestyle.
