Starting a weight loss and fitness regimen is one such new undertaking that puts a lot of people into that very situation.
The one single key to not giving up is... motivation.
Below are seven suggestion that can help you maintain the incentive and motivate you to continue on in your chosen weight loss or fitness program, and realize your endeavor to become fit and healthy.
- What kind of goals did you set? If your goals were all set too high, you will eventually feel that they are unreachable. Revisit them and add some intermediary targets if need be.
- Establish a list of reasons that may be holding you back from your objectives. One by one, eliminate any opportunity for an excuse to not carry on with your plan.
- Reward yourself for more than just big milestones. Acknowledge modest, yet positive accomplishments that are not part of your goal list. Maybe you have successfully changed a small habit that enhances your program.
- Be receptive to the psychological upside of exercise. Apart from its physical benefits, exercise will make you feel as if your mind is clearer, gives an uplift to your confidence, and revitalizes self esteem.
- Change it up. Mix your routines, try a different time of day, try a different surrounding, try something new.
- Do things that you like. If you love to cook, by all means cook often, just keep it nutritional. If you like being social, join an exercise group, or sign up for a team sport.
- Exploit the benefits of an exercise partner. Learn together and keep each other accountable. Challenge each other, push each other beyond the limits. Celebrate successes together. Support each other.
